Temple Israel in Kinston, North Carolina, is a Reform Jewish synagogue in rural eastern NC. While once a vibrant Southern Jewish community, only a few members remain. Nevertheless, we are a warm and welcoming group and encourage visitors to join us for our monthly lay-lead Shabbat services, High Holy Day services, and other holiday programs. All are welcome to join us for these programs and services.
We usually have services on the second Shabbat evening of every month at 6:30 pm. Please note that this is subject to change to accommodate holidays and special services. Please consult the schedule of services below.

We have 2 gatherings each month: one for Shabbat services and another we call "Shabbat Social", which can be anything from holiday celebrations to talks presented by community members. Services and gatherings at Temple Israel are free and open to members and non-members.

Sukkot Celebration
Come and help build a sukkah and then fulfill the mitzvah of dining inside it! We’ll work together setting up and decorating the sukkah. Then we’ll have a pizza fest inside it! Cost for dinner will be $10/person.
Should it be raining, we’ll move the event indoors. All are welcome.
